How to Become a Christian

The Bible states, For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

The members of this fellowship invite you to commit your life to Jesus Christ and join us in His service. New Christians are received upon their profession of faith in Christ and acknowledgment of His Lordship through believer’s baptism.

How can I have eternal life?

• We receive eternal life as a free gift. (Romans 6:23)

• We will spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven. (John 14:3)

• We are all sinners by nature and by choice. (Romans 3:23)

• We cannot save ourselves. (Ephesians 2:9)

• Jesus died for us on the cross. (I Peter 3:18)

• Jesus was resurrected from the dead. (Romans 4:25)

• Repentance is turning away from our sin and turning to God through Jesus. It’s like making a U-turn.

• Faith is trusting in Jesus. It’s like taking a trip on an airplane. You will never make the trip until you trust the plane enough to board it.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

A. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior.

B. Justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.

C. Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God’s purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person’s life.

D. Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Ask the Lord to save you by praying this prayer…

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, and that you died on the cross and were raised from the dead. I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I turn from my sins and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Jesus, come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sin and save me. I am now placing my trust in You alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life. Thank you for saving me.”

If you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please let us or another Christian know. We would like to rejoice in what God has done in your life and help you to grow spiritually.
