Wednesday Nights @ FBCHHI
Wednesday Night Dinner
Wednesday Night Dinner runs through the academic year. We begin the evening with a Wednesday Night Dinner. Reservations are needed, but for a reasonable price of $7.00 per adult (children and students eat for free), you can have a meal that usually includes a salad, entrée, beverage and dessert. Pizza is available for children and students, or anyone who is not interested in the menu for the week. Menus are listed under the Wednesday night tab on our website. Visitors are welcomed to join us, and then stay for adult Bible study or Children and Student activities.
Children’s Choir & Awana
Our Children enjoy singing in our Children’s choir. They rehearse each Wednesday night at 5:30 PM in the Children’s Building, learning songs that reinforce Bible lessons, learn music techniques and skills, and rehearse for occasional performances in Sunday morning worship and for a very popular event in the Spring – Dinner and a Show. On a Wednesday night in May, our Children’s Choir performs their spring musical, while attenders enjoy a spaghetti fund-raiser meal prepared by students and their leaders, with proceeds going toward FBCHHI Youth Ministry Summer Camp expenses.
Following Children’s choir, children move to Awana. Awana consists of four groups, Puggles for ages 2 – 4, Cubbies for ages 4 – K, Sparks for grades 1 – 3, and T&T (Truth and Training) for grades 4 & 5. This is a weekly program that teaches the Bible to children as they work toward goals that award them with patches for their shirts and vests, ribbons, certificates and sometimes trophies. There is always an Awards Ceremony and Ice Cream Celebration at the end of the school year that highlights the accomplishments of the children.
FBCHHI Student Ministry
Students in grades 6 – 12 meet in the Student Building at 6:30 PM for fun activities and lessons from the Bible. Our student leaders understand the importance of allowing this age group to continue having fun activities, but also want them to gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and to enhance their relationship with Jesus. They often use music and media to enhance their lessons.
Adult Bible Studies
Adults have a variety of Bible Study classes to choose from. Bible studies begin at 6:30 PM. You can find a listing of these classes, where they meet and what they study under the Wednesday Night tab on our website. There is a separate women’s Bible study, a men’s Bible study, a study for families, and a co-ed Bible study that is working its way through each book of the Bible. Visitors are always welcomed to the co-ed Bible Study. You can also join the other studies, but they are Bible studies built week-by-week.
Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal
If you are vocally inclined, our Sanctuary choir is always looking for new singers. Our choir has a wide age range of adults, and you do not have to audition to participate. A love of singing – and hopefully the ability to carry a tune – are all the qualifications you need. The choir sings every Sunday morning, performs a Christmas musical program each year, and holds a Tenebrae service every other year to enhance the Easter celebration. Anthems can be either traditional hymns or contemporary Christian songs, whatever may be best to enhance the week’s message from the Pastor. Call our Minister of Music, Richard Wade, for more information or just join us for rehearsal at 6:15 PM on Wednesday evenings to try it out.
If you need more information about any of these activities or studies, call our Church Receptionist, Paulette Gardner, or any of our other staff members at 843-785-4478.
