Middle School Sunday School Class Fundraiser for Samaritan’s Purse - Sunday, November 19
Our Middle School Sunday School class is trying to raise money to purchase a water filtration system for a family through Samaritan’s Purse. This water filter costs $100 and when the system gets installed, the Samaritan’s Purse volunteers also share the Gospel with the family. The Middle School Sunday School class will be hosting a Thanksgiving/Fall themed bake sale in the breezeway following the worship service next Sunday, November 19th. We also hope to have some youth near the Sanctuary exits with baskets for donations as well. If they are able to raise over $100, the class has voted to purchase chickens ($14 provides a dozen chickens for a family, which in turn provides eggs to eat and sell) and/or a goat ($70). The class is all very excited about working together to help others in need and to help spread the Gospel message through the work of Samaritan’s Purse.

Mission Project: Backpacks for the Homeless
Our church continues the tradition of an annual Angel Tree mission project by filling backpacks and distributing them to the homeless through the Old Savannah City Mission in Savannah, GA. Backpacks are to be filled with items such as toiletries, cold weather clothing items, and Christian reading materials. The backpacks will be distributed on Sunday, December 17. Anyone may go on this trip. Call Chuck Workman at 843-415-3898 for details. Filled backpacks or monetary donations are due in the Family Life Center by Wednesday, December 13.The Goal: 75 Backpacks, Mission Committee Matching Money from Donations Total: $750.
Option 1: Remove an angel tag from the tree and place a monetary donation, cash or check, in the envelope on the back of the angel. Place the tag in the collection plate or return it to the church office by the deadline. Please clearly mark checks for “Backpacks.”
Option 2: Use the list found on the back of the angel tag to shop for all the supplies listed and return them in a backpack to the Family Life Center no later than December 13. Note: If you choose this option, it is important that you supply all the items on the list. You may want to join with 2 or 3 people to fill the backpack. The approximate cost per backpack is $60 - $80. Feel free to “go in” with someone else.
